At Madison Heights, Kindergarten provides an organized, secured child-oriented environment , for learning by building upon and expanding your child's natural curiosity, interests, and abilities.

In Kindergarten, your child will acquire many skills while actively engaging in a variety of intergrated experiences such as learning centers, group projects, partner experiences and play-like activities. Cooperative learning activities through which students learn to work together in small groups and large groups, will be an important part of the Kindergarten day.

The Kindergarten year helps expand the child's world, enhances self-esteem and ultimately helps the child begin to recognize the needs of others. This is best achieved by grouping heterogeneously.

One of the most important things you will notice is that much of the Kindergarten work is process rather than product. Student projects remain at school to be read, written about and enjoyed over and over again. Parents are strongly encourged to visit the classroom to experience our ever-changing environment.

We strongly believe education is the shared responsibility of the student, home, school and community.
