Welcome to Fourth Grade

 The fourth grade teachers:

Grace Klees, Marion Hixon, and Ann Fischer

We climb to new Heights in our Fourth Grade because it's an exciting place to be! Our days are filled with exploration and discovery.

We fly through the stars in our Solar System Unit, and the children get quite a charge out of studying electricity and the earth's weather conditions. Who wouldn't get a bang out of writing a report on thunder storms? Oh, and watch out...another anole has escaped! We study these little creatures along with worms and crickets in the Food Chain Unit.

Some people might even mistake our math classes for constructions zones. Not only are we building arrays, symmetrical shapes, and geometric solids, but we're constructing our own strategies to ensure that we can use our knowledge of the basics to problem solve.

Extra, extra, read all about it.....Our fourth graders love to read! We're like gardeners tending to our flowers. We pick each book with care, enjoy its beauty, and share it with a friend. We may even write about it in a Draft Book or Writer's Journal. Published authors are telling tales and rhyming rhymes everyday in our classrooms.

Social Studies is an adventure as well. We are our own travel guides as we wander through the regions of the United States. We always linger a little longer in our own home state of Arizona, uncovering the treasures of then and now.

Everyday is a celebration. We dance to the music of our thoughts, sing to the melodies of our imagination, and nourish our creative spirits.
